Job summary

The University of Surrey is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to ensure IT services are high quality, functional and sustainable, leveraging advances in technology to design and implement secure IT services. You will focus on infrastructure automation using Entra, Office365, Active Directory and Okta workflows, documenting requirements and promoting solutions that fit the university's architecture.

Qualifications

Experience delivering IT automation and infrastructure development.
Ability to document requirements and promote IT solutions within an enterprise architecture.
Strong collaboration with IT teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

Lead infrastructure automation design, development and implementation with internal teams and external suppliers.
Provide technical consultancy and third-line support for IT systems and services.
Oversee testing, documentation and knowledge transfer during Go-Live and change processes.
Collaborate with Procurement on IT tenders and evaluate technical bids.
Manage incidents, problems and service requests, documenting workarounds.
Support Surrey's digital transformation agenda and align IT services with university strategy.
