Job summary

The University of Surrey is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to ensure IT services and systems remain high quality, highly functional and sustainable. This role will utilise advances in technology and industry practice to design and implement secure, quality IT services.

As a specialist technology consultant, you will provide third-line support, guide projects, and ensure successful go-live transitions. The role offers a generous salary, 32 days holiday plus bank holidays, a 14.5% pension

Qualifications

Senior-level experience in IT systems engineering.
Experience delivering third-line support and incident management.
Ability to work with internal teams, suppliers and contractors on IT projects.

Responsibilities

Act as IT Systems SME, liaising with internal teams, external suppliers and contractors.
Provide third‑line support for IT systems and services.
Lead testing, documentation and knowledge transfer during Go-Live.
Assist with tender processes and technical evaluations for large IT projects.
Manage incidents, problems and service requests with effective workarounds.
Contribute to IT strategy and the organisation's digital transformation.
