Job summary

The University of Surrey is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to drive Infrastructure automation and development, delivering secure, high-quality IT services as part of a digital transformation.

You will focus on automation across Entra, Office 365, Active Directory and Okta workflows, lead technical design, provide third-line support, and work with procurement on tenders to ensure robust, scalable solutions across the University’s IT landscape.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering IT infrastructure automation projects.
• Strong knowledge of Entra, AD and Okta workflows.
• Ability to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead role as Infrastructure automation SME across design, development and implementation of IT automation.
• Provide technical consultancy and third-line support for IT systems and services.
• Ensure testing and knowledge transfer during Go-Live and through change management processes.
• Collaborate with Procurement to input technical requirements and evaluate tenders.
• Manage incidents, problems and service requests with documented workarounds.
• Support Surrey's digital transformation aligned with the University strategy.
