Job summary

Wayve is hiring a Distinguished Software Architect to define how our software architecture evolves as we scale across multiple vehicle platforms, OEM programmes and Robotaxi applications. This is a cross-functional IC role working across onboard software, AI, simulation, training and inference, product engineering and Robotaxi teams.

You will lead architectural direction, establish clear interfaces, and drive major changes that ensure long-term health and scalability of Wayve's software

Qualifications

• Senior IC or Principal/Distinguished track record of shaping architecture of large, complex software systems
• Experience leading significant technical or architectural changes across multiple teams or organisations
• Exceptional systems thinker able to navigate broad technical landscapes and go deep where needed
• Ability to influence senior engineers and leaders through technical credibility rather than authority

Responsibilities

• Define architectural direction across Wayve's software ecosystem as it scales to more vehicle platforms and products
• Create clear software boundaries, interfaces and abstractions to enable rapid development with minimal fragmentation
• Lead large architectural changes spanning multiple engineering organisations
• Improve software development, integration, testing and deployment across different platforms and programmes
• Collaborate across onboard software, AI, simulation, training and inference, product engineering and Robotaxi systems
• Shape development platforms and engineering systems to support scalable software at Wayve
• Partner with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to ensure architecture supports diverse production environments
• Serve as technical decision-maker and tiebreaker on complex architectural decisions
• Help establish a strong engineering and design culture for large-scale, safety-critical software
