Job summary

HIVED in London is seeking a Senior or Staff Engineer to tackle hard planning problems in our 100% electric delivery network. You will join the Routing Squad, owning demand forecasting, capacity planning and large-scale route optimisation.

This hands-on role requires technical ownership across distributed systems and collaboration with data scientists and operations. You’ll shape architecture, productionise models, and work directly with operators to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Shaped architecture or direction of systems spanning multiple components or teams.
• Able to translate complex problems into technically sound solutions with measurable impact.
• Proficient in Python or Go, or similar language for HIVED's stack.

Responsibilities

• Build the planning pipeline with distributed systems behind routing and capacity planning.
• Turn ambiguity into designs and drive projects from investigation to production.
• Shape architecture and coordinate with other squads on system integration.
• Productionise optimization, forecasting and ML models with reliability.
• Work closely with operations teams and data to monitor performance.
• Lead design and code reviews and set testing and reliability standards.
