HIVED is building the first fully electric, scalable parcel network from our London base. We’re seeking a Senior or Staff Engineer to tackle the hardest problems in our routing, planning and scheduling pipelines, partnering with data scientists and operations teams to deliver reliable, on-time delivery at scale.

You’ll own core backend systems, optimize routes, forecasts and capacity planning, and coach other engineers as we grow. This role is hands-on and central to HIVED’s expansion in Europe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Technical ownership across multiple components or teams.
• Ability to translate complex operational problems into technical solutions.
• Proficiency in Python or Go, or similar language to ramp up on HIVED stack.

Responsabilités

• Build the planning pipeline: design, build and run distributed systems behind routing and capacity planning.
• Turn ambiguity into designs and take problems from investigation to production.
• Shape the architecture of the planning pipeline and coordinate with other squads.
• Put models into production: optimisation, forecasting and ML models.
• Stay close to operations and measure plan performance on ground.
• Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, set testing and reliability standards.
