HIVED is seeking a Lead Engineer in London to own the routing and planning domain. You will guide the squad that builds systems for efficient parcel movement, demand matching, and forecasting, impacting city-scale delivery networks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including backend or distributed systems.
• Proven ability to lead engineers and own delivery.
• Strong system design skills in distributed, production-grade environments.
• Experience with routing, scheduling, forecasting, or similar constraint-heavy domains.
• Excellent analytical thinking and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Routing Squad across strategy, delivery, team leadership.
• Own technical direction for routing optimisation and planning systems.
• Translate business needs into clear technical strategy and execution plans.
• Guide architecture for scalable, reliable optimisation platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product, and operations to ship solutions.
• Grow and develop squad engineers through mentoring and performance management.
• Foster curiosity, ownership, and high performance within the team.
