Job summary

Abtrace is seeking a Systems Administrator to own internal infrastructure, identity and endpoint estate. You will manage AWS, Microsoft 365, Intune and hybrid work practices in a small team, handling support tickets and security/compliance in a NHS data‑intensive environment.

The role requires hands‑on ownership of infrastructure, automation, and documentation, with a strong focus on security, change control and rapid incident response. Paddington office offers hybrid working.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems administration or IT engineering
• Production AWS experience
• Strong Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration
• Endpoint management at scale with Intune and Kandji or similar
• Scripting and automation in PowerShell, Bash or Python
• Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VPN, TLS, firewall
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Own AWS environment across development and production: IAM, networking, EC2, managed services, patching and cost control
• Maintain backup, restore testing and disaster recovery with documented procedures
• Build automation in PowerShell, Bash or Python to reduce repetitive tasks
• Manage internal networking, DNS, VPN and firewall configuration
• Own Microsoft 365 and Entra ID: conditional access, licensing, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint
• Apply least privilege and run access reviews; manage SSO and provisioning for internal SaaS
• Endpoint management across Windows and macOS with Intune and Kandji: baselines, patching, encryption
• Triage and resolve internal Jira tickets; meet SLAs; runbooks and documentation
