Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to lead safety activities across complex Electronic Warfare programmes, embedding safety from concept through deployment and in-service support.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, MoD stakeholders, and customers to ensure safety compliance, risk reduction to ALARP, and the development of safety artefacts and certification evidence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience conducting system safety analysis in safety-critical industries.
• Experience across multiple stages of the engineering lifecycle.
• Ability to lead safety work packages and coordinate teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience engaging with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety assessments and align activities with Safety Management Plans.
• Identify and mitigate hazards to ALARP levels.
• Perform intrinsic and functional hazard analyses.
• Define and manage safety requirements across lifecycle.
• Review subsystem safety evidence and integrate into system-level assessments.
• Produce safety artefacts and certification evidence.
• Influence engineering decisions to embed safety from concept.
