Job summary
Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to drive safety across the lifecycle of electronic warfare systems. You will influence design decisions, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and national security stakeholders, and ensure safety, compliance and performance in challenging environments.
The role requires leading safety work packages, engaging with regulators and customers, and delivering safety artefacts and certifications for complex platforms.
Qualifications
- Proven experience conducting system safety analysis within safety‑critical industries.
- Experience across multiple stages of the engineering lifecycle.
- Ability to lead safety work packages and coordinate activities across diverse teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience engaging with customers, suppliers and regulatory authorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of safety assessments in line with Safety Management Plans.
- Identify and mitigate hazards to ALARP levels across complex systems.
- Perform intrinsic and functional hazard analyses for integrated platforms.
- Define and manage safety requirements throughout the lifecycle.
- Review subsystem safety evidence and integrate findings at system level.
- Produce key safety artefacts and certification evidence.
