Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced RICS registered valuer to join our commercial valuations team based in Birmingham. The post holder will contribute to growing the Commercial Valuations business, building client relations, and working with the existing department Partners to grow the team. Our Birmingham-based Valuations team covers the whole of East Midlands, West Midlands, and North Wales, reporting on a wide range of properties including commercial investment properties, operational assets, residential developments, and commercial and mixed-use developments.

• Work within the existing valuation team in Birmingham, providing valuations for loan security, financial reporting, and other valuation needs.
• Carry out inspections, calculate floor and site areas, conduct comparable research, handle planning and statutory enquiries, perform company trading analysis, lease reading and summarising, review development/option agreements, and prepare valuations and development appraisals.
• Contribute to business growth by identifying new opportunities in the Commercial valuation sector.
• Assist in delivering major projects.
• Prepare financial and client reports.
• Deliver valuation reports in line with client instructions and RICS Valuation Standards.
• Participate in developing and implementing an effective profit centre business plan aligned with Carter Jonas' vision.

What does it take to be successful?

You should be an experienced chartered surveyor and registered valuer, with strong knowledge of valuations across commercial and/or residential assets. A good understanding of relevant legislation and the local market is essential to identify new business opportunities. Travel will be required, and a driving licence is necessary.
