Qualifications

• Class 3 (3H) Registered Building Inspector status required.
• Experience in residential plan appraisal and project management.
• Knowledge of NHBC Standards and Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead building surveying assessment for complex construction projects.
• Conduct site inspections for risk management on high-risk projects.
• Provide technical support on building regulations.

Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

IT proficiency with various software

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

Ability to build effective relationships

Extensive construction industry experience, especially in Building Control

Education

Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CABE, MCIOB, RICS)

As a Major Projects Surveyor, you will be at the forefront of ambitious construction projects in London. Collaborating with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and Stakeholders to ensure project success and adding significant value with your expertise.

This role requires Class 3 (3H) status as a Registered Building Inspector. We will consider candidates in the early stages of the RBI process and support your registration.

What you’ll be doing:

You will lead the building surveying assessment of complex, high-risk, high-value projects, managing other specialists' input.

Engage with developers and design teams to provide expert advice on NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and codes, guiding them towards compliant and technically sound solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Site inspections for risk management on high-risk projects
• Deputising for the Technical Operations Manager as needed
• Providing technical support within your area of expertise
• Conducting quality monitoring, peer reviews, training, and mentoring
• Guiding builders and consultants on regulations and standards
• Resolving customer complaints and managing conflicts
• Representing NHBC externally at seminars and industry groups
• Delivering technical presentations

The ideal candidate will have:

• Class 3 (3H) Registered Building Inspector status
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• IT proficiency with various software
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Experience in residential plan appraisal and project management
• Ability to build effective relationships
• Extensive construction industry experience, especially in Building Control

Education and Qualifications:
