Job summary

The Wallich are recruiting for a housing support worker to coordinate and deliver person-centred support for service users at risk of homelessness. The role focuses on helping individuals develop skills to maintain accommodation and live safely in their home and community.

Responsibilities include empowering service users, addressing housing and personal difficulties, and promoting independence. DBS enhanced clearance is required; a driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential to fulfil

Hours of Work:37.5 hours per week, between Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00

Project Description

The floating support service supports individuals living in their own homes who may be at risk of homelessness. The project provides housing related support and advice to individuals to develop the skills that people require to achieve their aims and ensure they live safely and independently in their home and community, maintaining their own home and sustaining their tenancies.

Purpose of Role

To coordinate and provide support that enables and empowers service users to address their housing and/or personal difficulties, build their skills and confidence improving their ability to maintain their current or future accommodation. The support will develop independence to enable people to improve their control, understanding and involvement in dealing with the issues that affect them, and assist service users to achieve their preferred outcomes.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.

Please note: Driving Licence and access to own vehicle is essential for this role
