At Autism Pathways, we have extensive experience providing high-quality accommodation and care for adults who need additional support. Our modern, spacious residential and supported living environments are designed to offer safety, promote independence, and empower individuals with greater choice and control in their lives.

The Role:

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Senior Support Workers to join our team, working with adults with Autism in a specialist setting. This is a unique opportunity to utilize your expertise in a fully individualized environment where person-centered care is prioritized. The role includes 2:1 or 3:1 support for service users, structured activity programs, and a safe, supportive living space, fostering both resident and staff wellbeing. Additionally, you will benefit from a robust professional development plan to help you further specialize in this field.

Autism Pathways employees enjoy a range of benefits:

  • Flexible pay* - choose when you are paid, and get money management tips too
  • Specialist training - on-going face-to-face training, tailored to you
  • Career opportunities - The chance to ‘make your mark’ and play a key role
  • Pension scheme - helping you plan for your retirement
  • Discounts on the high street* - with retailers like Asda, Costa and Argos
  • Refer-a-Friend - and get a £250 bonus
  • Free wellbeing programme - helping you look after your physical and mental health
  • Employee recognition scheme - we recognise and reward great work

The Service:

Our Birkenhead location is a purpose-built specialist facility, featuring three private, self-contained bungalows, each adapted to accommodate individual needs. This environment is designed to support individuals with complex needs and behaviours, providing an ideal setting for those who have faced challenges finding the right support. Each resident has access to their own secure and private living spaces—including a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and garden—along with additional safety features tailored to their specific needs. Separate staff facilities in each bungalow ensure residents’ privacy and independence.

Role Requirements:

  • Lead and supervise night support staff to provide high-quality care
  • Develop individualized care plans and implement structured daily programs
  • Support a safe environment through specialist equipment and reinforced furniture
  • Participate in the professional development program to enhance your expertise

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in a care setting
  • Ideally, 2-3 years’ experience in a specialist environment (e.g., adult Autism, learning disabilities, complex behaviours)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to complete
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to occasionally travel to assist with user transitions
