Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker for a residential children's care setting in the Manchester area. You will lead a small team, support a young person with complex needs, and ensure daily routines run safely and compassionately.

The role requires NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care, and you will write logs, coordinate with social workers and families, and plan engaging activities to promote independence.

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
• Experience in similar role and setting is required.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team on duty and ensure the home runs smoothly and safely.
• Use positive support and de-escalation techniques to manage difficult situations.
• Put daily care plans into action for individuals with complex needs.
• Write daily logs, file incident reports, and administer medication.
• Coordinate with social workers, therapists, and families.
• Plan activities to promote learning, independence and thriving.
