Job summary

Priory's Gateholme home in Wakefield is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our caring team. You will supervise and support residents with a range of needs, following personalised care plans and promoting dignity and independence.

Hours are 7:30am to 7:30pm with some weekend work. You’ll lead shifts, deliver person-centred care, administer medication, maintain records, and contribute to training and professional development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker is essential.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are required.
• Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others.
• Commitment to promoting choice, dignity and independence for those we support.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care.
• Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
• Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
• Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
• Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
• Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
• Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
• Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.
