Job summary

Priory is seeking a Senior Support Worker for Gateholme, Wakefield area, to lead, supervise and deliver person-centred care. You will support residents with plans, supervise shifts, and contribute to professional development within a compassionate team.

The role involves administering medication, handling finances, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with legislation. A DBS check is required and flexible shift patterns are available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker is essential.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others

• Knowledge of care standards, policies, and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care.
• Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
• Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
• Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
• Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
• Manage service users finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
• Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
• Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.
