Job summary

Voyage Care in Taunton is seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead our residential service. The role involves supervising staff, allocating shifts, training, and ensuring high-quality support for individuals with autism, brain injuries, and mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Support Worker or similar role, preferably in residential care.
• NVQ Level 3 or working towards it is preferred.
• Experience with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, and complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day supervision and management of the Taunton service.
• Allocate shifts, supervise staff, and support training and induction.
• Ensure people we support have opportunities for independence and goal attainment.

Job description

Senior Support Worker – Taunton - £14.18 p/h

Typical Shifts are: 07:45 - 20:45 working 3 shifts a week including alternate weekends

We’re currently searching for a fantastic Senior Support Worker to join us in leading our residential service in Taunton. This service is a welcoming and friendly environment with a dynamic team that supports a fantastic group of people!

As a Senior Support Worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst assisting the Manager with the day-to-day supervision and management of the service. You could be allocating shifts, booking in training, inducting new colleagues, supporting with supervision’s, ordering medication and ensuring the people we support are supported to manage their finances. You’ll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Seniors are still at the heart of providing day-to-day support.

We’re interested in our Senior Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Seniors should have previous experience as a Senior Support Worker (preferred but not essential ) NVQ level 3 or working towards it , dealing with rotas and on call and preferably experience working with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex individuals with mental health needs, and traumatic backgrounds.
