Job summary

Voyage Care's Taunton residential service is seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead a dynamic team and support individuals to gain more independence. You will assist the Manager with day-to-day supervision, allocate shifts, supervise staff, and help with training and medication ordering while ensuring the wellbeing and finances of the people we support.

The role emphasizes making a real difference in people’s lives, with DBS checks and references required for all applicants.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or working towards it.
• Experience as a Senior Support Worker preferred but not essential.
• Dealing with rotas and on-call responsibilities.
• Experience with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex mental health needs, and traumatic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead the residential service in Taunton and supervise day-to-day operations.
• Allocate shifts, book training, induct new colleagues and support supervision.
• Order medications and ensure people we support can manage their finances.

Typical Shifts are: 07:45 - 20:45 working 3 shifts a week including alternate weekends

We’re currently searching for a fantastic Senior Support Worker to join us in leading our residential service in Taunton. This service is a welcoming and friendly environment with a dynamic team that supports a fantastic group of people!

As a Senior Support Worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst assisting the Manager with the day-to-day supervision and management of the service. You could be allocating shifts, booking in training, inducting new colleagues, supporting with supervision’s, ordering medication and ensuring the people we support are supported to manage their finances. You’ll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Seniors are still at the heart of providing day-to-day support.

We’re interested in our Senior Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Seniors should have previous experience as a Senior Support Worker (preferred but not essential ) NVQ level 3 or working towards it , dealing with rotas and on call and preferably experience working with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex individuals with mental health needs, and traumatic backgrounds.
