Job summary

Priory Daffodil House in Pontypridd, South Wales, is seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to lead the team and deliver person-centred care to adults on the autistic spectrum with complex needs.

You will supervise day-to-day operations, coach staff, run team meetings, administer medication safely and support residents to live fulfilling, independent lives, while ensuring high standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker or Support Worker are essential.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others.
  • Committed to promoting choice, dignity, and independence for those we support.
  • Knowledge of care standards, policies, and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care.
  • Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
  • Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
  • Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
  • Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
  • Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
  • Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
  • Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.

Priory Daffodil House is a residential service in Pontypridd, South Wales. We provide support to males and females between the ages of 18 and 65, who are on the autistic spectrum who may also be presenting with complex needs.

We aim to help residents create and achieve goals, in order to lead a fulfilled and enriched life.

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will act as a positive role model, providing effective supervision and guidance to support staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered at all times. You will play a key role in supervising day-to-day operations, coaching colleagues, leading team meetings, and ensuring the people who use our service are supported to live fulfilling, independent lives.
