At Cambian Group, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures. As a Senior Support Worker based within West Midlands, every moment you spend with our young people (ages 8–18) helps them feel safe, valued, and supported.

A simple "How was your day?", a shared laugh over a board game, or encouragement during a tough moment—these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging, but every breakthrough, smile, and step forward will remind you why this work truly matters.

What You’ll Do
  • Support young people with their daily routines, such as getting them ready for school, preparing meals, and planning activities.
  • Create a warm, homely environment by assisting with light housekeeping.
  • Lead shifts and deputise for the home manager.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Plan and participate in fun activities like trips to the park, movie nights, or creative projects.
  • Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
Where You’ll Do It

Our residential home offers a warm, nurturing environment designed to feel like a true home. Each child has a personalized space reflecting their personality, and communal areas are welcoming and inclusive, filled with opportunities for creativity, play, and relaxation. We celebrate diversity, encourage expression, and foster a culture where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. The home is a place to grow, heal, and thrive.

The young people we support are resilient, each with unique stories, strengths, and potential. They inspire us daily with their courage, humor, and determination. Supporting them is a privilege—rewarding, sometimes emotional, but always meaningful. It reminds us of the importance of patience, empathy, and positive relationships.

Our team operates with unity and shared purpose. We communicate openly, reflect regularly, and support each other through challenges and successes. Daily handovers, team meetings, and supervision sessions ensure consistency and adaptability in care. We celebrate achievements together and lean on each other during difficult times, ensuring the young people receive the best support in a stable, caring environment.

Who You Are
  • Warm, patient, a great listener, and encourager—focused on achieving outcomes for others.
  • Driver with a full UK driving license, holding a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare, and two years of experience in a children's residential setting.
Why Join Us?
  • Exclusive discounts at major retailers (ASDA, Tesco, M&S, etc.)
  • Health benefits, including dental and optical cashback after two years
  • 24/7 support: Helpline and hardship grants via the CareTech Foundation
  • A welcoming home: Work in a comfortable and well-designed space
  • Expert training: Two weeks of fully funded induction
  • Career growth: Fully funded diplomas (Levels 3-5) and clear pathways for promotion
  • Supportive team: Work with caring and dedicated colleagues
