Job summary

Voyage Care is seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead a residential service in Midsomer Norton. You will support individuals to gain independence and assist the Manager with day-to-day supervision, shift allocation, training, and medication ordering.

You will require prior Senior Support Worker experience and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care, with a focus on distress behaviours, mental health, ABI, autism, and trauma. DBS checks and references apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Support Worker in a residential setting.
• Must hold Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification.
• Experience supporting individuals with distress behaviours and mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager with day-to-day supervision and service management.
• Allocate shifts and arrange training for colleagues.
• Induct new staff and support supervision; order medications as needed.
• Support people to manage finances and promote independence.
• Maintain DBS and references as part of the hiring process.

Location - Midsomer Norton

Pay Rate starts at: £15.10 p/h

Typical Shifts are:

• Long Days – 07:00am – 19:00pm or 08:00am – 20:00pm

• Early Shift – 08:00am – 14:00pm

• Late Shift – 14:00pm – 20:00pm

• Wake Nights – 20:00pm – 08:00am

• Enhanced evening and weekend pay at an additional 50p per hour (Ts & Cs apply)

We’re currently searching for a fantastic Senior Support Worker to join us in leading our residential service. This service is a welcoming and friendly environment with a dynamic team that supports a fantastic group of people!

As a Senior Support Worker with us you’ll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst assisting the Manager with the day-to-day supervision and management of the service. You could be allocating shifts, booking in training, inducting new colleagues, supporting with supervision’s, ordering medication and ensuring the people we support are supported to manage their finances. You’ll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Seniors are still at the heart of providing day‑to‑day support.

We’re interested in our Senior Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Seniors should have previous experience as a Senior Support Worker and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, acquired brain injury, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma.
