Job summary

Cheshire East Council is recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join the Care4CE Mental Health Reablement team in Macclesfield. This full-time, permanent role covers the north of Cheshire East with home visits and community referrals, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm, with occasional early evenings.

Senior Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Care4CE Mental Health Reablement team based in Macclesfield. The position is for 1 FTE (37hrs) permanent Senior Support Worker. The team primarily work Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, although some early evenings may be required. The service is based at Macclesfield Town Hall but covers the north of Cheshire East.

The Mental Health Reablement team provides short term (up to 6 weeks) practical support to adults who are experiencing mental health issues and/or drug and alcohol related issues. This may include support with debt management/budgeting, housing issues, education, employment, social inclusion, leisure activities, etc. The support focuses on coping techniques, increasing self-esteem and confidence, promoting social inclusion and goal setting to support people to maximise their independence. The successful candidate will be expected any risks, safeguarding concerns, etc.

The role involves making appointments at the home address and supporting referral to engage in the community, so a mileage rate is paid for the use of your car to make the home visits. The area covers Congleton, Wilmslow and Macclesfield
