Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking a committed Senior Support Worker to join a care home in the Lowestoft, Suffolk area. The role is permanent and full-time, working 36 hours per week on day shifts.

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is preferred, with a salary of GBP14.45 per hour (GBP27,050.40 per annum) and a benefits package including pension, training, and more. You will be responsible for residents' daily needs, care planning, supervising staff, and administering medications in line with policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a care setting is required.
• Excellent team player with good communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and a genuine desire to care for others.

Responsibilities

• Recognise and facilitate the daily needs of residents.
• Conduct formal supervisions and appraisals.
• Contribute to care planning and coaching of support staff.
• Promote the services offered when dealing with relatives and enquiries.
• Update and write care plans and resident documentation.
• Report and assess each resident to ensure continuity of care.
• Administer medication according to policies and procedures.

To be considered for this position you must have or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

As a Senior Support Worker Your Key Responsibilities Include

• Recognise and facilitate the daily needs of residents
• Conduct formal supervisions and appraisals
• Contributing to care planning and coaching support workers
• Take an active professional role in promoting the services offered when dealing with relatives, prospective residents and enquiries
• Participate in updating and writing care plans and resident documentation
• Be responsible for making and reporting realistic assessments of each resident to ensure continuity of care
• Be responsible for administrating medication to the residents in accordance with policies and procedures

Skills and experience preferred and beneficial for the role
