Job summary

Voyage Care in Longhope (Forest of Dean) is seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to lead our residential service. You’ll support people to gain independence, supervise staff, allocate shifts, and help with training while working closely with the Manager.

A Level 3 in Health & Social Care and prior Senior Support Worker experience are required. Experience with positive behaviour support plans, trauma-informed care, and autism is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker.
• Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice.
• Experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support including trauma, autism and mental health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day supervision and management of the service.
• Allocate shifts and book training for staff.
• Induct new colleagues and support supervision.
• Order medication and support people to manage finances.
• Provide day-to-day support to help people gain independence.

Pay rate: £13.84 - £15.84 Ph (Ts & Cs apply)

Contract: 37.5 hrs
Typical Shifts are: Monday to Sunday 2 x 8am - 20:00 and 1 x 07:30 - 2100

We’re currently searching for a fantastic Senior Support Worker to join us in leading our residential service in Longhope. This service is a welcoming and friendly environment with a dynamic team that supports a fantastic group of people!

As a Senior Support Worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst assisting the Manager with the day-to-day supervision and management of the service. You could be allocating shifts, booking in training, inducting new colleagues, supporting with supervision’s, ordering medication and ensuring the people we support are supported to manage their finances. You’ll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Seniors are still at the heart of providing day-to-day support.

We’re interested in our Senior Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Seniors should have previous experience as a Senior Support Worker and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care as well as experience working with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism, and people who have experienced trauma.
