Job summary

Randstad Care is looking for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker to lead shifts and champion high standards of therapeutic care in a structured residential setting for up to five young people in the Kirkintilloch area.

The role requires SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) with an HNC preferred, 1–2 years' experience in children's residential care, SSSC registration or eligibility, and a full UK driving license.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) with HNC preferred.
• 1–2 years of proven experience within a children's residential childcare setting.
• Active registration with the Scottish SSSC or immediate eligibility.
• Full UK Driving License and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain high-quality residential care standards.
• Build therapeutic relationships with young people and model positive behaviour.
• Prepare clear care documentation including shift logs, risk assessments and care reviews.
• Mentor and support Residential Childcare Assistants to ensure consistency and team morale.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners to support development plans and wellbeing.

A respected care provider in the Kirkintilloch area is seeking an experienced Senior Residential Childcare Worker to help guide shift delivery and champion high standards of therapeutic care. Core Responsibilities

• Lead shift management effectively, maintaining high-quality residential care standards across the service.
• Build strong, trust-based therapeutic relationships with young people while modeling positive behavior.

What You Will Need

• Qualifications: SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) alongside an HNC (or equivalent relevant qualification) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of proven experience within a children's residential childcare setting.
• Registration: Active registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or immediate eligibility.
• Licensing & Eligibility: Must hold a full UK Driving License and have full right to work in the UK.
