Job summary

Common Thread Ltd near Strathaven is seeking a Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to lead our small residential home, dedicated to helping vulnerable young people heal and grow in a safe, family‑style setting.

Working with the House Manager, you will coach and develop staff, champion a trauma‑informed approach, and ensure a stable, caring environment while upholding safeguarding standards and professional integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within residential care or relevant field.
• Essential: HNC Social Care, SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People); SVQ 4 is desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
• Trauma‑informed approach and understanding of complex behavioural needs.
• Ability to work flexibly including sleep‑over shifts and weekends.
• Full manual UK driving license.
• Existing, valid right to work in the UK (sponsorship not offered).

Responsibilities

• Lead the team in partnership with the House Manager to deliver high standards and consistent care.
• Coach and develop team members to put the needs of young people first with integrity and honesty.
• Create a stable, safe, and caring environment for residents and monitor safeguarding compliance.
