Job summary

Common Thread Ltd is seeking a Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to lead and support a team within our residential care homes near Lanark. You will work closely with the House Manager to ensure a safe, caring environment for young people with challenging life experiences.

We value strong leadership, safeguarding knowledge and a trauma‑informed approach, with flexible sleep‑over and weekend on‑call arrangements. A full UK driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within residential care or relevant field.
• HNC Social Care and SVQ 3 required; SVQ 4 desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
• A trauma-informed approach and understanding of complex behavioural needs
• Flexibility for sleep over shifts and on call which will involve weekend working
• Full UK driving license

About The Job

This is a fantastic leadership opportunity to demonstrate the high standards that we require to achieve the best possible outcomes for our young people. Working together with the House Manager, you will help to establish a dedicated and supportive team who are passionate about putting the needs of our young people first and acting with integrity and honesty. You will be able to use your knowledge and experience to help coach and develop members of the team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for creating a stable, safe and caring environment for the young people in our care.
