Blue Sapphire Consultancy Ltd is seeking a Senior Support Worker in the United Kingdom to lead and guide care staff during shifts, ensuring effective deployment across 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 care packages. The role focuses on behavioural risk management, de-escalation and safeguarding with hands-on leadership during incidents.

Competenze

• Significant experience supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
• Experience in 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 high-acuity care packages.
• Strong experience managing physical aggression and escalation.
• Experience implementing de-escalation strategies.
• Experience of physical intervention/restraint within a care setting.
• Experience with PBS plans, behavioural risk assessments and complex care plans.
• Experience supervising other care workers.

In addition to the responsibilities of a Support Worker, the Senior Support Worker will:

• Act as an experienced member of the care team and provide guidance to Support Workers during shifts.
• Support the effective deployment of staff within 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 care arrangement.
• Ensure staff understand their roles, positioning and responsibilities when behavioural risks increase.
• Identify early warning signs and ensure preventative and de-escalation strategies are implemented promptly.
• Provide clear leadership during incidents involving aggression, violence, absconding, property destruction or other significant risks.
• Ensure de-escalation and least restrictive approaches are exhausted wherever practicable before physical intervention is considered.

Essential Experience

Should have right to work in the UKCandidates must have:

• Significant experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Previous experience within 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 high-acuity care packages.
• Strong experience managing physical aggression and significant behavioural escalation.
• Demonstrable experience implementing effective de-escalation strategies.
• Experience of physical intervention/restraint within an appropriate care setting.
• Experience working with PBS plans, behavioural risk assessments and complex care plans.
• Experience supporting or informally supervising other care worker
