Job summary

Cygnet Health Care is recruiting a Senior Support Worker (Days) to join The Squirrels, a specialist residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities. This role involves 42 hours per week on day shifts, leading care delivery and supporting colleagues to help residents live meaningful lives.

You will work in a setting focused on independence, community integration, and safeguarding, with opportunities for ongoing training and development within the Cygnet group.

Qualifications

  • Genuine commitment to helping adults with autism and learning disabilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork.
  • Willingness to undertake enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living and welfare needs.
  • Support management and staff in day-to-day service operations.
  • Promote independence and community integration for residents.
  • Provide physical and emotional support to individuals in care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for everyone.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents' health or behavior.

Residents We Support
  • Adults from the age of 18 years
  • Individuals with a diagnosis of autism & learning disability
  • May present with behaviours that challenge
  • May have communication challenges
  • May have associated complex needs
  • Are subjected to DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) or Care Orders
  • Support both management and team members in the day-to-day running of the se rvice
  • Ensure duties are allocated effectively and safely
  • Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care
  • Provide guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support
  • Learn about individuals specific needs & provide help in the most appropriate way
  • Assist with medical & welfare needs and report as required
