Are you an experienced Senior Support Worker looking to elevate your career?

If so, join Community Houses and provide care for adults with complex mental health needs. You will support individuals to lead full and valued lives, making a real difference.

Our Care Home service, known as Community Houses, has rapidly expanded with 4 sites across Keighley offering step-down services for adults with complex mental health needs.

We offer enhanced care, including physical health monitoring with local medical support, to aid our Service Users' rehabilitation journeys.

Each service is a large residential house with an office, where you'll help Service Users with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, community activities, and encouraging independence. You may also participate in day trips, including visits to the seaside.

At Community Houses, you'll have opportunities to develop your skills and career through various courses and support from Elysium Healthcare.

What you will be doing

You will join an experienced team supporting people with mental health conditions, acting as a step-down service between Three Valleys Hospital and independent living, helping clients develop life skills.

Whether you are a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker, your experience will support clients' independence and well-being.

Our 4-tier working structure places all Senior Support Workers on the same level, reporting to a Team Leader, with support from the Registered Manager and Deputy. Staff survey results indicate strong support from management.

You will work across all four houses, promoting independence, resilience, and a positive attitude, in a challenging but rewarding environment.

The role involves shift work on a rolling two-week schedule, covering days, nights, and weekends, with overtime and flexibility available.

  • Assist Service Users with daily activities
  • Contribute to recovery journeys
  • Promote independence and empowerment
  • Update care plans and record notes
  • Support activities and rehabilitation
  • Administer medication
  • Perform general duties like admin, cleaning, stock management

Some roles require independent working, medication administration, and contributing to CPA plans, requiring prior experience in these areas.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will have:

Experience in a similar role, leadership skills, empathy, and a caring nature. You should support residents’ personal hygiene, communicate effectively, handle challenging behaviors, and be reliable, flexible, and honest. Being local or within commuting distance is preferred.

Where you will be working:

Location: Steeton, Sutton-In-Craven, and Cowling, Yorkshire.

Our 21-bed facilities are located in semi-rural areas, facilitating gradual reintegration into the community. Public transport access is important if you live outside the area. Day shifts start at 7:35 am.

What you will get:
  • Salary of £25,057.50
  • 33 days annual leave plus your birthday off
  • Free meals and parking
  • Wellbeing support and activities
  • Career development opportunities
  • Pension, life assurance, and enhanced maternity package
  • Additional benefits like retail discounts and offers
