Join Community Houses to support adults with complex mental health needs and help them lead full, valued lives. Our rapidly expanding Care Home service in Keighley offers a step-down service with a focus on rehabilitation, physical health monitoring, and promoting independence.

Each service is a large residential house where you will assist with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, community activities, and encouraging independent living. You may also participate in day trips, including seaside visits.

At Community Houses, you will have opportunities for skill development and career progression through various courses. We support your professional growth and aim to help you achieve your career goals.

What you will be doing

You will join a team supporting individuals with mental health conditions, operating in a step-down service between Three Valleys Hospital and independent living. Your experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker will be valuable in supporting service users to lead fulfilling lives.

You will work across four houses, encouraging independence and a full life. The environment can be challenging but rewarding, with visible improvements in service users’ abilities.

The role involves shift work on a rolling two-week schedule, including days, nights, and weekends, with overtime and flexibility available.

Senior Support Worker duties include:
  • Assisting with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, washing, and personal care
  • Supporting recovery journeys and promoting independence
  • Updating care plans and recording notes
  • Supporting activities and rehabilitation efforts
  • Issuing medication
  • Performing admin, cleaning, stock management, and liaising with healthcare services

Some roles involve lone working, medication administration, and contributing to CPA processes, requiring prior experience in these areas.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will have:
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Leadership skills and experience
  • Empathy, compassion, and good communication skills
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors
  • A positive, professional, reliable, flexible, and honest approach
  • Ability to commute to the locations in Steeton, Sutton-In-Craven, and Cowling
Where you will be working:

Locations include Steeton, Sutton-In-Craven, and Cowling, Yorkshire. Our community houses are situated in semi-rural areas, facilitating gradual reintegration into the community. Public transport access is important if you do not have a driving license.

What you will get:
  • Salary of £25,057.50 pro rata
  • 33 days annual leave plus your birthday off
  • Free meals, parking, wellbeing support, training, pension, life assurance, and enhanced maternity package
  • Additional benefits like retail discounts and offers
