Job summary

EGIS Group is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support project-based works across distribution assets, ensuring protection, control, and SCADA systems are commissioned and integrated to meet regulatory and customer obligations.

The role requires extensive field work, testing, and collaboration with customers and internal teams. Candidates should have 10+ years in commissioning, valid UK certification, and be willing to travel nationwide.

Qualifications

• HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Valid TP141/SR141/CE141 certification essential.
• 10+ years in commissioning within electricity distribution/transmission.
• Experience with protection on switchgear, transformers and feeders up to 400kV.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-commissioning inspections before off-load tests.
• Check schematics against connections, protection and tripping logic.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Testing and project meetings as required.
• Conduct off-load commissioning checks on substation plant and gear.
• Test protection relays and SCADA integration using IEC61850/DNP3.
• Record time spent on projects and report progress to the team.
