Job summary

EGIS is seeking a Senior Authorised Protection Commissioning Engineer to deliver advanced commissioning and integration for protection, control, and SCADA systems across distribution assets. The role ensures new equipment and protection schemes are fully commissioned and integrated with existing systems, meeting regulatory and customer obligations.

Based in the United Kingdom, the role involves working within a team and holding Senior Authorised Person authorisation for protection up to 132kV,

Qualifications

• Minimum Higher National Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven working history in electricity distribution/transmission industry, typically with 10+ years’ experience.
• Detailed knowledge of protection on all distribution asset classes at all voltages up to and including 132kV.

Responsibilities

• Undertake duties of a Protection Commissioning Engineer across 132kV assets.
• Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and off-load tests.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Testing and project meetings as required.
• Witness testing of primary substation plant and protection schemes.
• Provide guidance to team and complete reports on progress and status.
