Job summary

TURNER & LOVELL LIMITED seeks a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead end-to-end civil design of electricity substations across the UK, from concept to delivery. You will oversee drawings, calculations and specifications for civil structures and liaise with key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree and 3+ years in power transmission/substations, with AutoCAD and MS Office; Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks is advantageous. Hybrid UK working arrangement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years' industry experience in power transmission/substations.
• Experience with project lifecycles from feasibility through handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) across the UK.
• Attend site visits, client meetings, and design reviews to monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet scope, safety and quality.
• Manage design risks and develop practical, buildable engineering solutions.
• Oversee design reviews and integration with electrical and structural disciplines.
• Guide and support junior team members.
