Job summary

TURNER & LOVELL LIMITED is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead end-to-end civil design of electricity substations across the UK, from concept through delivery. You will manage drawings, calculations, and specifications for civil structures and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree with 3+ years in power transmission or substations, and is proficient in AutoCAD; Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks are a plus. Hybrid working arrangements available across the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of industry experience in power transmission, substations or related infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycles from feasibility through handover.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and MS Office; Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) across the UK.
• Attend site visits, client meetings, and design reviews to monitor progress and address technical issues.
• Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet technical, safety and quality requirements within time and budget constraints.
• Manage design risks and develop buildable engineering solutions throughout project development and delivery.
• Oversee design reviews and integration with electrical and structural disciplines.
• Guide and support junior team members.
