Job summary

Turner Lovell is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead the civil design of electricity substations across the UK, from concept to completion. You will oversee drawings, calculations and specifications for various civil structures and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in power transmission/substations, familiar with AutoCAD and ideally Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks. This role offers hybrid work within the UK energy sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• 3+ years of industry experience in power transmission, distribution, substations or related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) across the UK.
• Attend site visits, client meetings and design reviews to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet technical, safety and quality requirements within time and budget.
• Manage design risks and develop practical, buildable engineering solutions.
• Oversee design reviews and ensure integration with electrical and structural disciplines.
• Guide and support junior team members.
