Job summary

Arup is seeking a highly experienced Subsea Cable Technical Lead to join our team in the UK. You will provide technical leadership across offshore transmission projects, including HVAC and HVDC systems, FEED through construction, and operations support.

The role requires leading workstreams, engaging with developers, investors and utilities, and delivering thoughtful, cost-effective engineering solutions. Based in one of our UK offices (Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham or Southampton), you will

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in offshore export cable systems (HVAC/HVDC).
• Strong understanding of cable design and routing, installation, protection and operation.
• Experience supporting FEED, detailed design, construction or Owner's Engineer services.
• Experience in subsea cable pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, FATs and SATs, asset management.
• Ability to engage confidently with clients and industry stakeholders.
• Demonstrable experience leading technical subsea cable workstreams and providing engineering assurance.
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering /Electrical Power Systems; Chartered Engineer status.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical subsea cable workstreams and provide engineering assurance.
• Support FEED, detailed design, construction or Owner's Engineer services.
• Engage with clients and industry stakeholders to shape solutions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offshore transmission projects.
• Travel internationally as required for project delivery.
