Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer to lead asset management and maintenance of highway structures in the Yorkshire and North East region. The role is permanent and based from offices in Leeds, Wakefield or Darlington, with travel as required.

You will collaborate across teams to develop early solutions, manage substandard or post-tensioned structures, and ensure compliance with DM RB and Eurocodes.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer with relevant experience.
• Experience in Highway Structures management, inspection, and design.
• Knowledge of DMRB standards and Eurocodes.
• Knowledge of Construction Design Management 2015 and associated duties.
• Degree or HND in relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate asset data evaluation to develop early solutions.
• Develop early solutions for improvements/renewals with options and costs.
• Monitor delivery of agreed early solutions and liaise with teams.
• Identify and prepare briefs to support survey works for asset renewal.
• Develop technical briefs for design/construction contractors.
