Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer to lead on the asset management and renewal of highway structures. You will direct engineering teams across bridges and other structures, develop early solution strategies, and ensure compliance with DMRB standards and Eurocodes.

The role requires driving to offices in Leeds, Wakefield or Darlington with up to 3 points on your licence. As part of the Yorkshire and North East region, you will deliver technical excellence, manage

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer with experience or equivalent.
• Experience in highway structures management, inspection, assessment and design.
• Knowledge of DMRB standards, methods of working & Highway Works specifications and Eurocodes.
• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 and associated duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities and coordinate resources to identify and evaluate asset data and needs for early solutions.
• Lead development of early solutions for improvements/ renewals with evidence, options and costs.
• Monitor delivery of agreed early solutions and coordinate with teams to resolve issues.
• Identify and prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works for asset improvements.
