Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer to join the Yorkshire and North East team on a permanent basis. The role involves technical leadership in asset management for highway structures, including bridges, within Leeds, Wakefield, or Darlington offices.

You will drive delivery of early solutions, develop technical briefs for contractors, and ensure alignment with DMRB standards and Eurocodes. A Chartered/Incorporated status and relevant highway experience are required.

Qualifications

Chartered or Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer status and relevant experience.
Experience in highway structures management, inspection, assessment and design.
Knowledge of DMRB standards, Eurocodes and related methods.
Degree or HND in a relevant discipline.
Knowledge of CDM 2015 and associated duties.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and coordination of asset data and needs for early solutions.
Oversee preparation of briefs and evidence for improvements/renewals with options and costs.
Monitor delivery of agreed early solutions and liaise with teams to resolve issues.
Identify and support delivery of survey works for asset improvements or renewals.
Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors.
