Job summary

National Highways seeks a Senior Structures Engineer for the Yorkshire and North East region on a permanent basis. You will provide technical expertise in asset management and maintenance of highway structures, leading on the development of structures asset management documents for substandard and post-tensioned structures.

The role can be based from Leeds, Wakefield or Darlington offices. Travel and a valid license are required; you will need no more than 3 points to be considered for this

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer with relevant experience.
• Experience in Highway Structures management, inspection, assessment and design.
• Working knowledge of DMRB standards, methods of working & Specification for Highway Works and Eurocodes.
• Degree or HND in relevant discipline
• Knowledge of Construction Design Management 2015 and associated duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate asset data identification and evaluation to develop early solutions.
• Lead development of early solutions for improvements/renewals with documentation and options.
• Monitor delivery of agreed early solutions and liaise with teams to rectify issues.
• Identify, prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works for asset improvement/renewals.
• Develop technical briefs for design/construction contractors for renewal work.
