Job summary

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is seeking a Senior Structures and Assets Engineer to join the Transport, Engineering and Highways team. You will oversee the authority's general and principal inspection programmes, shape capital delivery, and act as a technical lead for highway structures.

You will engage consultants and contractors, manage complex budgets, and apply CDM 2015 regulations to ensure safe, resilient assets across the highway stock. Hybrid working is available where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Experience of undertaking or delivering General and Principal inspections.
• Experience of structures asset management.
• Experience of proposing and developing early solutions to meet structures needs.
• Experience of engaging and managing consultants and contractors.
• Experience of managing complex budgets robustly and professionally.
• Experience of the application of CDM 2015 regulations.

We are excited to advertise an opportunity for a Senior Structures and Assets Engineer working in the Transport, Engineering and Highways team. This is an exciting time to join the service at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, as we are currently expanding the team to strengthen our strategic and technical capacity to deliver the significant capital budget we have allocated to highway structures. Areas of responsibility include overseeing of the authorities general and principal inspection programme, determining programmes of work to address the asset need of the authorities highways structures stock, engaging consultants and contractors to deliver structures maintenance schemes and act as a technical point of contact for structures.
