Gerrell & Hard Limited in Oxfordshire is seeking a Senior Structural & Thermal Analysis Engineer. This hands-on role splits roughly 50/50 between structural FEA and thermal modelling to support high‑performance mechanical systems operating under demanding conditions.

You will develop and maintain FEA and thermal models, interpret results, and work with design and test engineers to drive design improvements. Site-based with some flexibility, security clearance may be required.

Competenze

• 5–10 years in structural or thermal analysis or related field.
• Hands-on experience with structural FEA and thermal modelling.
• Experience with ANSYS Mechanical and/or Abaqus or comparable FEA software.
• Ability to translate simulation results into practical design recommendations.

Mansioni

• Develop and maintain structural FEA and thermal models to support design and development.
• Perform structural stress, deformation and thermal-stress analyses.
• Develop thermal models to predict temperature distributions and heat transfer.
• Use simulation results to identify design issues and recommend improvements.
• Define modelling assumptions, material properties, boundary conditions and verification methods.
• Correlate simulation results with experimental data and support validation.
• Work with mechanical design and test engineers to improve designs.
• Document analysis methods, results and recommendations to a high technical standard.
• Contribute to design reviews and engineering verification activities.
