Job summary

Bimplus in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Steel Fabrication Manager to own workshop operations and drive high‑quality, efficient production across a busy fabrication facility.

You will lead fabrication teams, welders and technicians to deliver accurate, compliant steel components, turning engineering drawings into finished parts while maintaining stringent QA/QC and timely delivery to active construction sites.

Qualifications

• Experience as Workshop Manager or similar within structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret complex structural drawings.
• Hands-on leadership to motivate fabrication teams and supervisors.
• Experience coordinating steel deliveries and site logistics for construction projects.
• Trade background (Boilermaking/Welding) or an engineering qualification.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding standards and workshop safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage workshop operations, fabrication teams and welders to meet production targets.
• Ensure all work complies with engineering drawings, specifications and welding procedures.
• Maintain QA/QC standards to ensure zero-defect output and codes compliance.
• Oversee logistics, dispatch and delivery sequencing for steel elements to live sites.
• Uphold a strong safety culture with full compliance to OHS regulations.
• Manage material inventory, workshop machinery, cranes and resource planning.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, driving continuous improvement.
