Job summary

Forge Talent Group is seeking a Structural Plater to join a busy fabrication workshop. You will fabricate and assemble large structural steel components from engineering drawings and prepare sections for welding, ensuring high quality and safety standards.

You should have experience reading detailed drawings, working with heavy steel, and a collaborative approach in a team. The role is permanent and site-based in a UK fabrication environment, with focus on accuracy and production schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience fabricating heavy structural steelwork in a workshop.
• Strong measuring and marking-out abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble structural steel components from drawings.
• Mark out, prepare and fit steel sections and plates.
• Read fabrication and general arrangement drawings and check dimensions.
• Tack weld components where required and use overhead cranes safely.
• Collaborate with welders to meet production schedules and maintain quality.
