A leading company in the engineering sector is seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer in London. The role involves designing and delivering structural engineering projects across various sectors while mentoring junior engineers. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in structural design software.
Stantec is seeking a highly motivated andexperienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in London.
In this role,you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and delivery of a wide rangeof structural engineering projects across various sectors, includingcommercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure.
You will play a keyrole in mentoring junior engineers, leading project teams, and ensuring thehighest standards of technical excellence and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery of scheme and concept designs
Delivery of detailed design including full tender and construction packages
Preparation of calculation packages for submission to Building Control
Attendance at client, design and site meetings
Management and development of engineers and technicians
Liaison with statutory authorities, architects, the design team and contractors
Preparation of fee proposals, input into project bids, ITTs etc
About You:
You will hold a relevant degree qualification in Civil or Structural engineering and will ideally be working towards Chartership with the IStructE or ICE.
You will have a good track record in structural engineering design and have experience in the delegation, project management and mentorship of junior engineers.
You will also have the necessary skills and experience to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders, including our most valued clients. Good attention to detail and strong presentation skills are also required.
Key Skills Required:
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, Revit Structure, Tekla Structures).
Strong understanding of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, British Standards).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
