Job summary

Kier Group in Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham) is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead building structures projects, mentor junior staff and coordinate with other disciplines.

You will deliver calculations, drawings and models, engage with clients, and help drive sustainable design targets while upholding CDM regulations and UK standards.

Qualifications

• Professional qualifications in Structural or Civil Engineering with CEng.
• Experience designing building structures within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of UK/EU standards and CDM regulations.
• Proficiency with structural design software: TEDDS, Tekla, MasterSeries, Revit.

Responsibilities

• Producing and checking structural design calculations, drawings, models, reports, specifications, and schedules
• Coordinating structural engineering design information with Architecture, Civil, and Building Services Engineering
• Setting and implementing structural design strategies with sustainability and low carbon targets
• Acting as the lead structural designer on significant building structures projects and attending project meetings
• Mentoring other Structural Engineers and Technicians as part of CPD commitments

We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team based in Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham).

Location: Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham)

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

• Producing and checking structural design calculations, drawings, models, reports, specifications, and schedules
• Coordinating structural engineering design information with other technical disciplines including Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Building Services Engineering
• Setting and implementing structural concept design strategies whilst monitoring progress against sustainability and low carbon targets
• Acting as the lead structural designer on significant building structures design projects and representing the team at project meetings
• Mentoring other Structural Engineers and Technicians as part of our commitment to Continuing Professional Development

What are we looking for?

• You hold professional qualifications such as BSc, MSc, BEng or MEng in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering, with Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
• You have knowledge of structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design to current European/British Standards, along with CDM Regulations and UK construction techniques
• You have experience designing different types of building structures within a multi-disciplinary design team environment and attending meetings with clients and construction professionals
• You're experienced in using structural design software packages such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, Masterseries and Revit Structures
• You're collaborative, trusted and focused, with a commitment to working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to reach innovative solutions
