Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Structural Engineering team in Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham). The role involves leading design on major projects within a multidisciplinary team and supporting CPD and career growth.

You will produce and check calculations, coordinate with Architecture and Building Services, and contribute to sustainability targets while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified with a BSc, MSc, BEng or MEng in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status CEng, Member, or Associate Member of Institution of Structural Engineers, or Institution of Civil Engineers.
• Knowledgeable in structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design to current European/British Standards.
• Experienced in designing different types of building structures within a multi-disciplinary design team environment.
• Committed to Continuing Professional Development.

Responsibilities

• Producing and checking structural design calculations, drawings, models, reports, specifications, and schedules.
• Coordinating structural engineering design information with other technical disciplines such as Architecture and Building Services Engineering.
• Setting and implementing structural concept design strategies and monitoring progress against sustainability and low carbon targets.
• Acting as the lead structural designer on significant building structures design projects.
• Mentoring other Structural Engineers and Technicians within the team as part of our commitment to professional development.

We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team based in Liverpool or Norwich. KierDesign are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.
