Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Structures and Geotechnical team in Norwich. You will contribute to civil and structural infrastructure projects, delivering safe, buildable engineering solutions and supporting the delivery of schemes within Kier Design.

We value collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, a UK driving license, and professional progression towards IEng/EngTech/CEng. The role offers 40-hour weeks with some flexibility and a starting salary around £40,000 per

Qualifications

• Are professionally developing towards or holding IEng, EngTech or CEng (IPD), or equivalent experience
• Are qualified to Level 6 or 7, or bringing strong practical engineering experience
• Are an experienced engineer with a background in Civil, Structural or infrastructure design
• Are able to demonstrate knowledge of industry standards (e.g. highways, rail or water)
• Are confident working across multidisciplinary environments and complex infrastructure projects
• Have a full UK driving license, willing to attend sites and project locations

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, buildable Civil, Structural / MEICA solutions across Temporary & Permanent Works
• Produce infrastructure design solutions across structures, highways, geotechnics and utilities
• Support bids and tenders with feasibility, outline design and innovative concepts
• Drive value engineering and alternative solutions to improve efficiency and competitiveness
• Review third-party designs and manage technical risk across design and delivery
• Lead or support project delivery, including site visits, client collaboration and design outputs

Location: Norwich
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Salary: Starting from £40,000 per annum

Sector: Structures and Geotechnical - Highways/Water

You’ll be working within Kier's 750-strong internal consultancy, Kier Design, supporting the delivery of Civil & Structural Infrastructure Engineering services across a diverse range of projects.

As part of our Structures & Geotechnical team, you’ll contribute to both core and complex project delivery-providing safe, buildable, and innovative engineering solutions that meet client objectives.
